Safety: YAPEAL’s guarantees
Yapeal has a fintech banking license, which is easier to obtain than a standard banking license.
- No Swiss deposit protection insurance up to CHF 100,000 in the event of bankruptcy
- Obligation to deposit all customer money with the Swiss National Bank (SNB)
- Ban on investing customer assets
- Data stored in Switzerland
As the money is stored at the SNB and not invested, the security of the funds is a priori guaranteed.

YAPEAL customer service
Yapeal does not offer chat (bot or live) like Revolut, but a contact solution via a form or the address [email protected]. The FAQ is not very comprehensive, and the customer support offered by telephone is chargeable and limited to card blocking and account access problems.
Customer service is not up to the standard you’d expect from a neobank.
Cashback at YAPEAL
Yapeal cashback is limited to two partner companies, AVIA and Fleurop.
Good reasons to open a YAPEAL account
We don’t really see any. Yapeal is not competitive. It doesn’t stand out from the competition and is more expensive. Moreover, it offers a very limited free plan compared to other neo-banks.
