Yuh Account vs. Revolut, bank card, cash withdrawals, fees
Yuh and Revolut both provide a free bank account in Switzerland, but only Yuh offers access to an individual Swiss IBAN 🌐 . Revolut provides a GB IBAN for multi-currency operations, which is quite disadvantageous for domestic transactions. In addition, the Yuh account supports multiple currencies, including CHF, EUR and USD (up to 13 currencies). These two banks are part of the best banking solution for cross-border commuters with Switzerland.
Account: Yuh advantage
The 💳 bank card is free at Yuh. It can be used to pay in Switzerland, abroad and on the Internet:

On the other hand, ✘ Revolut charges CHF 5.99 for delivery, while the Yuh card remains completely free.
Credit card: Yuh advantage
For cash withdrawals, Revolut and Yuh offer a free base in Switzerland🇨🇭:
● 1 withdrawal/week at Yuh, then 1.90 CHF/withdrawal
● 5 withdrawals/month up to 200 CHF at Revolut, then 2% fee
Revolut is more advantageous than Yuh for small multiple withdrawals (with its 5 free withdrawals per month). Yuh is more suitable for larger withdrawals, up to CHF 10,000 per month.
Withdrawals :
– Yuh advantage in Switzerland
– Revolut advantage abroad (multiple withdrawals)
Security deposit guarantee
Yuh and Revolut are not banks. However, Yuh is backed by Swissquote Bank SA, approved by FINMA 🇨🇭. This is not the case for Revolut which is a regulated foreign financial company.
✔︎ Yuh deposits are protected up to CHF 100,000 in the event of bankruptcy.
Neobanks are regulated with or without a banking license.

Safety: Yuh advantage
Payments in Switzerland 🇨🇭 TWINT + eBill + QR invoices
Yuh offers exactly what you need to pay easily in Switzerland 🇨🇭:
● eBill (electronic invoices) ✔︎
● Scan Swiss QR invoices (inpayment slips) ✔︎
● Create a standing order from a QR invoice ✔︎
✔︎ Yuh has its own TWINT application.
✘✘ Revolut offers none of these possibilities. This is a major disadvantage for everyday life in Switzerland.
Payments in Switzerland: Yuh advantage
Compatible platforms for paying with your smartphone or watch ⌚️:
Yuh: Apple Pay / Google Pay / Samsung Pay
Revolut: Apple Pay / Google Pay / Samsung Pay / Garmin Pay / Fitbit Pay
Mobile payment: the Revolut advantage
For transfers abroad, Yuh and Revolut work differently:
Yuh offers transfers within Switzerland and free SEPA transfers in EUR or (4 CHF for other currencies). The currency conversion rate of 0.95% is fixed for all currencies.
Revolut offers free SEPA transfers in EUR, but charges of CHF 0.50 to CHF 700 apply for other currencies (depending on amount and currency).
For transfers in foreign currencies, Revolut remains cheaper than Yuh, unless you already have the foreign currency and wish to make a transfer to Switzerland (free with Yuh). Revolut charges no fees for SEPA transfers in Switzerland. So the only charges that apply are the exchange fee of 0.50% per week, compared with 0.95% at Yuh.
International transfers: a tie between Yuh and Revolut
Yuh vs. Revolut: exchange fees travel abroad
Yuh and Revolut do not charge transaction fees, but do charge currency conversion fees.
As both are multi-currency accounts, fees depend on the situation:
● No conversion fee if the currency is already funded on the account. This is normal.
● Yuh adds 0.95% on top of the actual interbank rate for currency conversion.
● Revolut offers the interbank exchange rate (0.50%) with a 1% surcharge at weekends and for amounts over CHF 1,250 per month.
For foreign withdrawals, Revolut is more advantageous up to CHF 200 per month, but beyond that, Yuh becomes cheaper. For multiple withdrawals, Revolut remains competitive, but Yuh offers a better solution for higher single withdrawals.
For a withdrawal of 500 EUR in 5 instalments :
- Yuh: 17.00 CHF (5 x 3.40 CHF)
- Revolut: CHF 10.00 (CHF 0 for the first CHF 200, then 4 withdrawals at CHF 5 each)
For a single withdrawal of EUR 500 :
- Yuh: 7.65 CHF (4.90 CHF + 0.95% of 500 EUR)
- Revolut: CHF 12.50 (2% of EUR 500)
Foreign exchange travel: the Revolut advantage
Virtual sub-accounts (organize your budget)
Yuh ✔︎ lets you create project sub-accounts.
Revolut ✘ offers “Pockets” to categorize recurring payments, but no integrated sub-accounts.
Sub-accounts: Yuh advantage
Savings: which online bank offers the best interest rate?
Yuh ✔︎ pays savings up to 1%.
Revolut ✘ does not pay interest on savings in Switzerland.
Some other banks do not automatically pay interest on savings. That’s a good point for Yuh.
Interest rate (savings): Yuh advantage
Yuh customer service vs. Revolut
The absence of a physical network for the majority of neobanks reduces costs, but gives even greater weight to the quality of customer service. The customer service experience at Yuh and Revolut is serious and fairly seamless:
Yuh ✔︎ can be reached until 10:00 pm on working days.
Revolut ✔︎: in-app chat support, callback option (for Ultra offer only). Support in English is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Customer service: equality
